Privacy notice

Updated September 4, 2026.

MechMerch develops and tests merchandise concepts. This notice describes our review website and planned integrations with research, publishing and print-on-demand services. Questions or privacy requests: [email protected].

Review information

When you participate, we record ratings, reactions, written suggestions, the concepts and artwork versions shown, and interaction times. Recruited studies also record concept order and time visible, consent version and time, a pseudonymous reviewer identifier, and a hashed judge-platform assignment reference. A hash is a pseudonym, not a guarantee of anonymity.

The browser stores a reviewer identifier and study/consent state so the review can continue. Your browser and our delivery infrastructure also process network information needed to deliver and secure the site. Our application request logs omit raw URL paths, query strings and client identifiers; infrastructure providers may separately process network metadata.

How we use feedback

We use feedback to evaluate concepts, compare creative versions, improve research and produce revised designs. Internal automation and AI-assisted workflows may help with that work. We do not sell reviewer information. Do not include names, contact details or other personal information in free-text feedback.

Who can see it

Written feedback in recruited judge studies is private to the MechMerch team and its internal systems. It is not shown to other voters through public review links. Ordinary shared review links outside a recruited study can display comments and product version histories to anyone who has the link. Aggregated ratings and resulting designs may be public.

Hosting and delivery providers process data as needed to operate the service. If you arrive through a judge platform such as Prolific, that platform separately manages its account, study submission and payment records. Email sent to our company address is delivered through our email providers. Their own policies also apply.

API integrations

Our publishing tools are intended to access MechMerch's own authorized account, publish original content and read engagement metrics. We do not request access to other users' private accounts. Sandbox tests do not represent public engagement or fulfilled orders. Provider access tokens are kept in restricted credential storage, not published in the website or source repository. We do not use Pinterest API data to train AI models.

Retention

Raw recruited-study feedback is removed or redacted from the working database after 90 days, on the next successful scheduled retention run. Aggregate vote totals, resulting designs and non-text audit records may remain. Ordinary non-study feedback follows its product version history and is not covered by that automated study-retention rule.

Restricted historical backups, prior logs and exported copies are separate from the working database. Their expiry handling is still being finalized before paid recruitment. Our restore-verification process applies current migrations and retention before validating restored data. We do not claim that deleting a working record instantly removes every backup copy.

Your choices

Recruited-study participation requires an explicit start decision. Declining creates no study session or feedback records, although normal network delivery can still occur. You can stop at any time; stopping does not erase previously submitted feedback or automatically return a paid study on the judge platform.

To ask about access, correction or removal, contact MechMerch through your judge platform or the email above. Please identify the study or review link without sending account passwords or API keys. We handle these requests manually and may need information to locate and verify the relevant records.

This website is currently a concept-review service, not a checkout. We do not collect payment-card details through the review viewer.
